Great halogen replacement

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing these bulbs because the lights are in our kitchen and I was concerned that they would not be bright enough. They provide plenty of light and don’t suck up all the energy the halogen did. I would buy them again.
Pretty good

I bought 3 of the warm white models to replace the energy-sucking halogen bulbs we had in our hanging lights over the kitchen counter.

I’m pretty happy with these SMD LEDs. They’re not quite as bright as I would ideally like, but compared to the other LED GU10 offerings, I think these are the best and brightest.

The light is very evenly spread-out.. which I think is good. The other 1 watt/2 watt LED bulbs that I tried from the local home depot type store had very concentrated light patterns — almost like a hanging flashlight.

Regarding “warm white” … well, I wouldn’t call it “warm”. The light still has too much of that cold harshness of LEDs — but it is bearable. Especially considering that my 3 lights now take ~6 watts versus the old ~175 watts of the halogens.

Considering the current low-energy options for GU10, I think these are the best and most reasonably priced.

Finally a good LED flood light!

I’ve been waiting a long time for a decent LED or CFL GU10 bulb for my kitchen flood lights, which doesn’t sacrifice brightness or color. The kitchen lights are on the most in our house, so I really wanted to replace the high wattage GE halogen bulbs. The wide angle and warm white color make this bulb almost indistinguishable from the GE halogens, other than when you look directly at the bulb and see the individual dots of the separate LED’s. I don’t mind that at all though, it actually looks kind of cool, almost like a designer bulb. Once I replace the rest of the bulbs with these LED’s, I think it will be a nice effect. The bulb is fairly ugly in the daytime when the light is off though (as you can see in the item photo), but since it’s on the ceiling, it’s not like anyone ever looks up at it. I can’t wait for the rest of my GE bulbs to go out, so that I can replace them with this bulb as well (hopefully the price will drop some by then).

I love this bulb, but give it a four out of five for the following reasons, all of which I can live with:

1. The price ($18) is pretty extreme, so I’m hoping the bulb lasts long enough to pay for itself.

2. As I stated before, it looks pretty ugly when the light is turned off. Some kind of glass cover might help, but if that sacrifices the nice color, wide angle, and brightness, it wouldn’t be worth it.

3. The bulb takes a half second to turn on after hitting the switch, but at least it doesn’t flicker at all while warming up like some CFL’s.

Bright, but with a Sickly Green Hue – Better LEDs are Available

As advertised, this is a bright, very wide angle bulb. It seems to illuminate almost evenly over a 180-degree range without a noticeable bright-spot. I don’t mind cool white, but this one manages to look cold and greenish at the same time. Really, the color is just too ugly for me. I’ve since bought over a half-dozen of GU10 3×1 Watt LED Spot Light Bulb = 20W, warm white, 1226ww and they do everything I want.
Ok for accent lighting, but forget about general lighting

I bought this bulb to replace a halogen 50 watt bulb. Don’t bother with it. It does turn on and work. The light it emits is limited at best. I have a very cheap led flash light that gives off more light than this bulb does.
