Question by mimi: Is this a halogen or fluorescent or led light bulb? I am going to use this bulb to light up a painting and I heard fires any light is bad for paintings b/c it fades its color. whats the best way to solve bulbs blowing?
Question by Robert J: whats the best way to solve bulbs blowing? i use halogen gu10 bulbs on our 230v mains circuit, it is not a practical option to replace the bulb type, i have tried using both Halogen and led bulbs and they have blown in short order in the same fitting (within a couple of months) i am aware the main cause of bulbs blowing is the heating and cooling of the filament, my house has its original wiring from the sixties, is it likely that the bulbs are victims of surges from the grid? if thats the case are there any inline surge protectors that can be wired in for the purpose or can you use an ac capacitor to smooth the current flow? and would i be correct in guessing it would be wired in parallel with the bulbs?
